The characteristic of what is impersonal is that it can be connected to an “I” to a subject, that it does not belong to or does not apply to a particular person, but has rather an absolute value and is not enclosed within the relative limits.

According to Nisargadatta Maharaj: the impersonal is the real, the personal comes and goes.
